Rooted in Culture. Growing Community. Cultivating Possibility.

At The Tending Space, we create culturally affirming spaces where youth, families, and communities can heal, learn, lead, and thrive.

Welcome to The Tending Space

At The Tending Space, we believe that healing, belonging, identity, and opportunity are cultivated through connection to ourselves, our history, our community, and one another.

Founded to create spaces of care and cultivation with a mother’s touch, our work has evolved into a vibrant community-centered organization dedicated to empowering African American youth, families, and elders through culturally grounded education, leadership development, wellness, arts, and intergenerational engagement.

We meet people where they are and journey alongside them as they discover who they are, where they come from, and who they are becoming.
